In the world of all-powerful and versatile smartphones, the Nokia 150 stands out. Based on the successes of the past, Nokia - or rather HMD - reissues, once again, the resurrection of the legend of the 3310 with this feature phone.
Like a phoenix, the Nokia 3310 has seen several resurrections. Indeed, Nokia, or rather HMD, has repeatedly used the old successes of the Finnish brand to reinvigorate its product line. Today, history repeats itself with the Nokia 150.
A return to the past
Do not expect to find the latest version of Android here. The Nokia 150 is not a smartphone as we understand it today, but a feature phone, a phone with basic functions, almost a relic of a bygone era. Yet even in 2023, this type of phone still finds its audience.
Its features are simple : a 2.4-inch three-color screen, an operating system called Series 30+, a removable 1450 mAh battery, a lightweight ARM SoC by MediaTek, 4 MB of storage, a microSD slot, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, FM radio, a 0.3 megapixel VGA camera, IP52 certification (which guarantees minimal splash resistance), a 12-key keyboard, a small directional joystick, four navigation keys and the Bluetooth. It also does not forget to offer an MP3 player and the mythical Snake game. The whole thing weighs only 91 grams.
One of the strengths of this phone lies in its autonomy : up to 24 days on standby. A performance that can be decisive for those who want a phone dedicated to calls and messages only, without worrying about recharging it every evening.
Another interesting point concerns resistance. Despite a modest IP52 certification, let's remember Nokia's reputation : building phones that can withstand the test of time. A reputation which, hopefully, will be confirmed by this new model. But note, all the same, that the IP52... absolutely does not guarantee resistance to swimming.
The Nokia 150 retails for $45 on Amazon, and there are plenty of comparable options if you really want this type of cellphone.
