In a recent study, researchers wondered if penis size is a criterion of seduction for women. According to them, it was undoubtedly, in a distant time, a criterion for the selection of the male partner.
A criterion of seduction
To find out whether women were attracted to men by the size of the penis, the researchers carried out a small test.
Using the computer, they created hundreds of silhouettes highlighting male anatomy, including manly attributes. They then showed them to 105 women, asking them to indicate which parts of the male body they found most attractive.
The participants responded very quickly, which pleads in favor of the sincerity of their reactions. It is to the bust that they seem to have been the most sensitive. Likewise, men of high stature and well decoupled appeared to them more attractive than others.
They also stopped at the size of the penis at rest, but up to a point. Indeed, beyond a certain dimension, they would not consider this factor to be determining. And the size of a short, plump man's penis would leave these women rather indifferent.
A way to choose the sexual partner
If women still show interest in well-developed penises, it would be because of the attitude of their distant sisters in prehistoric times.
Indeed, the latter would have chosen in part their sexual partners according to the size of their penises. They believed that it would give them a noticeable advantage at the time of reproduction.
In humans as in other animal species, the choice of mate was in fact a function of his supposed ability to produce robust children, and therefore to ensure the survival of the species.
This factor would have been transmitted to future generations, while losing its primary function. But, since prehistoric times, men have become accustomed to dressing. Except on naturist beaches, women no longer have the opportunity to distinguish their male partners by the size of their penis.
Is the penis proportional to another part of the body ?
Can we guess the size of the male sex by looking at the nose, the fingers or another part of the anatomy of a man ? A study conducted in Kyoto on male cadavers thus attests that having a prominent nose increases the chance of having a penis above average by 29%, when the member is stretched to simulate the erectile situation.
The limitations of this study, conducted exclusively on deceased Japanese people, do not allow a clear conclusion to be drawn. Of the other claims linking penis size to a body part, which would be the most reliable ?
It is in the mother's womb that the fetus is exposed to the conditions that will influence the size of its sex. Be careful, however, this data should not be considered as an absolute rule. The final developmental stage of the male sex depends on other characteristics, including genetics, and the 2D:4D ratio indicates only one possibility compared to an average.
